Today's post motto is 'Healthy skin can be affordable and tasty'.

I have a glowing skin green smoothie recipe for you - it's easy, it's yummy, it's nutritious and your skin will love it!

Let's get started..

A few things first...

  • If you’re replacing a meal with this green smoothie, try adding 2-3 tablespoons of oats. This will supply your body with energy for the next few hours. If adding oats, you might need to increase the amount of coconut water.
  • Do not add sugar. Since mangoes and pineapples are naturally sweet, there is no need to add more sweetness. Plus sugar isn't your skin's best friend..
  • No cans, please. Take advantage of fresh or frozen fruits. Canned pineapple often have added sugar - plus less vitamins - less glow.  In the summer you can stock up on fresh fruits freeze them yourself - it's cheaper than buying frozen.

It's tasty

Glowing Skin Green Smoothie Tastes Good - Pretty Blooming

There are so many green smoothie recipes out there and you have probably tried many of them.

Basically, whatever green leafy veggies and fruits you blend, you will never get a bad result (health-wise).

However, when it comes to taste, same cannot be stated.

Don't know about you but I have tried green smoothie combinations which I wish I haven't.

My point is - to be able to harness the benefits of a green smoothie, we need to drink it more than once. And do drink it more than once, it has to taste good. And easy to make.

Easier said than done, I know.

Goal is therefore to find a smoothie recipe where you don't feel like pinching your nose while drinking it.

And as promised, I've got one for you...

And it's a skin booster - check the what the ingredients can do for your skin:

  • Avocado - great source of both vitamin C and vitamin E. Vitamin C is involved in collagen and elastin formation, which ensure firmness and elasticity of your skin. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that prevents skin cell damage from free radical oxidation. Not only is Vitamin E counteracting the effects of aging but it also can reduce the damage caused by excessive sun exposure.
  • Pineapple - The vitamin A in pineapple reduces inflammation and is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It not only tastes good but it also hydrates your skin and help you get rid of the toxins damaging your skin cells.
  • Mangos - Aromatic and rich in carotenoids. Cartenoids help give a rosy glow skin to a dull skin. Moreover, good levels of cartenoids in the diet help increase skin’s density and thickness.
  • Spinach - Spinach is an excellent source of iron. Without adequate iron, you can’t transport oxygen as efficiently, which can leave you with pale-looking skin. Spinach is also rich in Vitamin K which helps strengthen your blood vessel walls so you can diminish dark circles.
  • Flax seed - This is another nutrition powerhouse - rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidants and fiber, flax seeds help reduce wrinkles, give the skin a healthy glow and fight sun damage. Add flax seed to your smoothie to boost collagen production and help reduce inflammation from skin exposure.
  • Coconut water - A little sweet and a little salty, coconut water is a preferred choice of hydration for many. It's low in calories, rich in Vitamin C and so refreshing. Note: confused with coconut milk, which is made from coconut meat,
