What You Can Do With
Essential Oils

The rise of EO's popularity has given birth to all kinds of BS claims about their capabilities.

YES, some claims ARE backed by scientific research but often the claims are just so crazy that I'm surprised anybody falls for it.

For example...

Remember the Ebola virus? People claimed that the anti-viral properties of essential oils could help get rid of the virus. Pretty strong claim... Got some research on that?...

It's a shame people start blowing things out of proportions 'cause you start to think, "is all this stuff just a big sham?"

For treating Ebola or Corona virus? Total sham...

For use in skin care and improvement in many skin conditions? Totally legit.

Besides using EO's for our skin, they're used for natural pest control, in food and beverages, and of course aromatherapy.

Fun fact.. Did you know Coca-Cola's 1886 original recipe included EO's?

These were the oils:

  • Orange
  • Lemon
  • Nutmeg
  • Cinnamon
  • Coriander
  • Neroli

In the US, the FDA provides a list of essential oils that are Generally Recognized as Safe. The list gives a general idea which essential oils are safe for use, including consumption, but only within certain parameters. You can find the list HERE.

Let's move on to something a bit more useful for you...

What you can do with essential oils

Aromatherapy

With the use of diffusers, essential oils’ aroma can help create an atmosphere of your choice – welcoming, relaxing, focus-inducing, and so much more.

Fresh Air

Frequently opening the windows and diffusing essential oils is the best way to let clean air and fresh aroma inside your home.

What about air fresheners? - you might ask. Yes, those are an option too. A truly bad option though. The "fragrance" they owe their "fresh" aroma to can contain up to 300 harmful chemicals, and still be called "fragrance".

And what is even more disturbing is the fact that about 75% of American homes use some type of synthetic air freshener! So be cautious, read the labels and watch out for the term "fragrance" 'cause it's nothing but a bunch of toxic chemicals.

Did you know this about "air fresheners "and cancer?

According to a study by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, cleaners and air fresheners emit toxic pollutants at levels that may lead to serious health risks and even cancer.

Another study from 2016 found that being exposed to so-called “air fresheners” as little as once a week can increase a one’s odds of developing asthma by as much as 71%.

This puts "air fresheners" among the most toxic products in one's home.

Massage Oils

Essential oils are also incorporated into massage oils to aid in relaxation through their scent and muscle soothing through their therapeutic benefits.

DIY Skin Care

The cherry on the cake. Do-it-yourself skin care is my favorite way to put essential oils in use. Not only is it much healthier to rely on natural ingredients like essential oils and products from inside your pantry, but it's also much more sustainable both for you and for the nature.

DIY products made with essential oils can replace all the store-bough toxic junk. You can make everything from masks, makeup removers and face washes, to serums, creams and moisturizers, bath salts, scrubs, salves, and so much more!

Honestly, I am so excited to introduce to the the world of making your delicious, all-natural and clean skin care products, that I don't know where to start!

Let's start by figuring out which skin type or condition you want to address and then you can take advantage of the Pretty Blooming DIY Introduction Bundle that is designed specifically for your skin type.

I've scoured the net for the best recipes and oils for each skin type. Anything from studies to books by experts in the field. Needless to say you are in good hands!

Shall we begin?

OILY SKIN

Essentially, oily skin is the result of the sebaceous glands producing an excessive amount of oil.

As annoying it is to have glowy forehead, this skin type has its advantage too. The excess oil contributes to fewer wrinkles and fine lines.

However, the excess sebum (oil) also leads to clogged pores, which result in evil whiteheads, blackheads, pustules, papules, and all that.

If you too suffer from oily skin you've probably tried a bunch of get-rid-of-oily-skin conventional products. Unfortunately, most of those contain toxic chemicals. An essential oil blend, on the other hand, would balance your oil productions and wouldn't include none of the toxins conventional products do.

And here are some of the most effective essential oils for treating oily skin:

  • ylang-ylang
  • clary sage
  • neroli
  • rosemary
  • lemon
  • cedarwood
  • lavender

acne-prone skin

One of the main causes of acne is oily skin. When your skin produces excess amount of natural oils, your skin pores get clogged. Add to this the impurities, makeup, and acne bacteria, and you have all the participant in the evil plan to cover your face with pimples.

So it's right to say that to treat acne-prone skin, you should treat the cause - in most cases the excess amount of sebum.

However, it is also right to say that you need to treat the bacteria that causes acne.

Here some of the essential oils that contain anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties that can leave your skin clear, smooth and acne bacteria-free:

  • tea tree
  • rosemary
  • bergamot
  • copaiba
  • peppermint
  • lavender
  • rose

Did you know rose oil can kill acne bacteria in just 5 minutes?

In a 2010 study, Chinese researchers discovered that rose oil has of the strongest bactericidal activities compared to 10 other essential oils. They discovered that a applying a 0.25 percent dilution of rose oil is able to completely destroy the bacteria responsible for acne (Propionibacterium acnes) after only 5 minutes!

But there’s one solution you might haven't tried yet.

You guessed that right--essential oils for dry skin. I swear those babies do magic for my itchy skin.

mature skin

To be honest, I never thought I will need an anti-aging skin care in my 30s...

But here I am - sitting in my pyjamas with a thick layer of anti-aging overnight treatment.

"Do I need to use anti-aging products?"

This is a question most women ask themselves on their birthdays.

I know I do.

To answer this I will quote an esthetician who I once hear talking about this. Don't remember her exact words, but it was something in the lines of "if you are old enough to ask, you do need anti-aging skin care".

Of course if you are under 21, I am not talking to you. You just stick to a healthy diet, drink plenty of water, avoid smoking and alcohol and you will be just fine... until you are not lol.

If you are over 24-25 year-old and have begun seeing small fine lines appearing here and there, you know what I mean.

So what are the most powerful anti-aging products?

Well, while there are products that can (to some extant) smooth existing wrinkles and fine lines, it is definitely much harder to treat wrinkles then to prevent them.

Think proactive!

Don't wait until you NEED anti-aging skin care. It might help and it might not.

But there is so much more to say about premature aging--I've been geeking out about the topic for over 2 years now.

And if you want to here more about what I learned through digging into studies, researches and self-experimenting, feel free to check the full Essential Oils Course here.

Now, to give you some closure - here are some of the essential oils that nourish the skin in depth, kill free radicals (those bastards that cause you to age) and smooth fine lines:

  • frankincense
  • carrot seed
  • lavender
  • myrrh
  • eucalyptus

word of caution

Essential oils are the nature's solution for the problems that pollution, toxic ingredients, poor diet and stress have added to our lives.

However, remember that to get beneficial results you must use ONLY therapeutic-grade essential oils that have NOT been adulterated. Adulterated are those oils made with fake aroma ("fragrance") that can be harmful to our body.

Moreover, you should always use them diluted the right way. Never apply essential oils "neat" on your skin. Refer to the Safety Guidelines lesson.

so what do you say?

If you think, "can essential oils REALLY address all these skin conditions" then you're totally like I was a few years back. We're so used to relying solely on chemical-based products and (falsely) believe it's the only thing that works.

Your Gal,

Valeria
